I just went through all my favourites which I collected over the last 9 weeks. For me there's a reason for collecting these beatiful images. It either brings out some emotion, the same feeling I have when appreciating painting. Sometimes it also reminds me of something in my life like an event, a person close to me or just life in general.

This is just my personal view but this is what gives me inspiration

There's always beatiful scenery in a far away country.
Go and explore the world.
Life is too short for bad coffee and it always tastes better in the morning.
You're always missing out on something or thats what if feels like in some cities.

Maybe I should have become a fisherman.
Some families are happier than others.
Certain countries still use donkeys as a transport medium.
Wish I could have a pint with the locals around the corner

History is important.

Sometimes life can be tough.

It's important to have less but good friends

Video games and television is not all that important.
Get your hair done once in a while - its the important things that matters the most.
Its good too laugh.

There's something about faces that intrigues me. I just love to paint them. I don't know why, probably because I can see or imagine the emotion behind each one. Everyone has their own story to tell.

I think the reason I've picked more elderly people is because they're more interesting to paint.

Young people's expressions is more innocent. From a painters perspective they can be more difficult to paint because of the soft contours, pale skin etc. The contour of lines in elder people's faces shows a history of happines, laughter, pain, sorrow.

Its almost as if there's a thought process in each picture. If I can compare this with young people its as if there's a mere acceptance of life.

So if you will ask me to choose my answer would be I want to live, think and be like a child but I would still choose to paint the elder only because it carries more emotions. An interesting painting to me is if you still think about the painting days after you've seen it.
